What is a Facelift?

During a traditional facelift, a surgeon makes several small incisions hidden around the ears and hairline to lift the skin, fat, and underlying structures back to a more youthful position. A facelift corrects signs of aging such as lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity

Should Women in Their 30’s Consider a Facelift?

The number of younger women seeking a facelift continues to increase. Experts note that women who have noticed signs of skin laxity or the appearance of lines and wrinkles may now choose to have a facelift as early as their 30’s. Benefits of a facelift at this age include:

  • Natural-looking results
  • More rapid recovery
  • Anti-aging effects lasting ten years or more

Not all women in their 30’s should have a facelift. A consultation with Dr. Vitolo will determine whether you would benefit from a facelift or should consider non-surgical options. If you do not need a complete facelift, Dr. Vitolo may recommend a mid-facelift. This procedure tightens and lifts the middle part of the face for a rejuvenated appearance with less recovery time than a facelift.

How Does a Scar Less Facelift Work?

Some people may benefit most from a traditional facelift. Others may be good candidates for a Scar Less facelift. The Scar Less procedure uses an advanced endoscopic technique to lift and tighten the ligaments and other structures that support the skin. This technique requires only two small incisions in the hairline. This procedure pairs well with an endoscopic brow lift to address the forehead and brow areas.

Non-Surgical Facelift Alternatives

If you do not feel ready for a facelift, you have many other options. liquid facelift uses dermal fillers to restore lost volume and smooth out lines and wrinkles. Results will not compare to a surgical facelift but will give you a more youthful appearance. Botox® or similar products can relax lines and wrinkles.

What is Recovery Like From a Facelift?

After a traditional facelift, most people feel recovered enough to return to work in seven to ten days. You may return to work in three to four dayswith a Scar Less facelift. This shorter recovery time may make the Scar Less facelift more attractive to women in their 30’s who may not have time for a long recovery.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Facelift?

If you have noticed skin laxity or lines and wrinkles, you might be a good candidate for a facelift. Women in their 30’s make good candidates if they are in good health and have reasonable expectations.
