As a board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Vitolo’s approach to male liposuction is like that of an artist: He works with your specific needs to ensure that your final results transform you into the work of art you want to be.
You’ll first meet with Dr. Vitolo during your consultation, where you and he will discuss why you want to undergo fat removal surgery, as well as any concerns you might have for the procedure. Dr. Vitolo will examine you and make recommendations as to where liposuction should be performed to achieve your desired goals. Dr. Vitolo’s primary outcome for the consultation is to have you feeling safe, comfortable, and confident about how you’ll look after your liposuction.
Dr. Vitolo’s preference for liposuction is the External Ultrasonic Assisted Liposculpture (EUAL). In this procedure, he injects a fluid into the areas he wishes to treat (saline + anesthetic), but instead of beginning the liposculpture, he applies ultrasonic energy to the areas that he will re-contour. The ultrasonic energy is transmitted through the skin without damage and semi-liquefies the fat. It is only then that he begins liposculpting the areas. Since the fat is now a semi-liquid, he does not have to break up the fat but removes it with very fine cannulas with suction. The ultrasound also decreases bleeding and causes the skin to contract better following the procedure.
When the best contour is achieved, Dr. Vitolo molds the body by applying white foam tapes to the areas suctioned. This serves to keep the new shape stabilized during healing and prevent bruising. The tapes are removed after 2 days and normally there is little or no bruising.
