DR. VITOLO’S APPROACH TO TUMMY TUCK SURGERY

Dr. Vitolo’s approach to tummy tuck surgery involves an in-depth consultation process, where candidates can expect to learn about the procedure, its benefits, and what kind of results they can look forward to. During the procedure Dr. Vitolo will remove excess saggy skin (the “pooch”), remove stretch marks, and tighten the abdominal muscles. The tummy tuck procedure is performed under general anesthesia in Dr. Vitolo’s state of the art, AAAASF certified ambulatory surgical facility. The procedure usually takes 2 to 3 hours and patients are able to return home to recover that same day. Results include a smoother and more contoured tummy that will let you easily slip into your favorite pair of jeans.
IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?
Tummy tuck surgery does not actually enter the abdomen or cut any muscle (like a Cesarean Section), it is strictly a skin operation. As a result, most patients have minimal discomfort after the surgery, unlike a Caesarian Section, so recovery is relatively quick. Dr. Vitolo’s patients go home the same day as the surgery to recover with their families. He encourages his patients to be in bed only to sleep, and be up and around in the days after the surgery, to encourage faster healing, however no housework.
Dr. Vitolo likes to have his patients take 7 to 10 days off work while they recover, but not be sedentary. Most patients can return to work after this time, however, strenuous exercise should be avoided for 3 to 4 weeks.
WHAT RESULTS WILL I SEE?*
You will be amazed by the early results that are visible as soon as the abdominal dressings are removed, usually in a week. The final results take several weeks to develop as the minimal swelling resolves and the skin tightens further. You will soon want to buy some new bathing suits and jeans to celebrate your new body.
